What is a Fanlisting?
A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country.
Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject.
TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not only) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans.

How I got started
Fanlistings for me was always a wishy-washy subject, I loved them, but at the same time I wasn't totally addicted, till now. My first fanlisting I applied for was for my hostess, Nikki, because I felt that she was an awesome person and needed a fanlisting.
Thanks to Midoriko-sama, I used phpFanBase to get started. I soon found out that I wanted to create more. However it wasn't until June 2006 that I made a fanlisting collective using Enthusiast. Enthusiast made it alot easier to maintain and join [especially join] fanlistings.
At the beginning, almost all of my fanlistings were for webmasters. Laster on it was mostly focused [and probably still is] on Anime/Manga: Characters, since I'm most familiar with this category, however I've been expanding my horizons alot lately.
Alot of people influenced me in fanlistings, especially Inggrid <3. Inggrid is amazing. She's totally nice, smart and will help you, keep you company and makes you laugh when you're sad. She's a genius at webdesigning and fanlisting-ing [xD]. Her layouts are simply gorgeous
and I can't think of a reason why you shouldn't love her, except for the fact that she throws bananas at you. Looking at Inggrid making, maintain and get approved for fanlistings inspired me so much I wanted to too, that's why alot of the things on my sites are similar, since I just loooove to copy her x3.
